Applied Arts (one seat, three year term)


P. Michael Supancic (Criminal Justice and Criminology)

Dr. Michael Supancic earned a Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Texas at Austin and currently represents the College of Applied Arts on the Faculty Senate. At the School level, he serves as the undergraduate Program Coordinator and is a member of the Scholarship Awards committee. Dr. Supancic also chairs the University (UCC), College (AA CCC), and School (SCJC) level curriculum committees. His on-going service to the University includes an ex-officio position on the General Education Council (GEC), a member role on the Security and Personal Safety committee (chaired by Chief Matt Carmichael), and as a core member of the provost Writing Team assisting faculty, chairs/school directors, and college deans developing new degree programs at Texas State. As a current Faculty Senator, Dr. Supancic has worked tirelessly to uphold the importance of shared governance, collaborative communication, and inclusive, accountable decision-making, within an environment of mutual trust and respectful dialog.
