Fall 2025 Election Information
Texas State is holding elections in each of the colleges to establish a new faculty advisory group, which will help redevelop Faculty Senate bylaws to comply with the new law and will help implement additional SB 37 requirements concerning faculty policies by January 1, 2026. This group will become the new Faculty Senate (the 68th Faculty Senate of Texas State University) after official approval by the Board of Regents.
The first round of elections will be July 29 – August 4. The two candidates with the most votes from each college will then participate in a runoff election to take place August 11 – August 15. The elected senator from each college will serve a two-year term. If only two candidates participate there will be only one round of voting unless there is a tie.
Members of the Faculty Senate are faculty voters, exclusive of departmental chairs and other quasi-administrators as determined by the Faculty Senate, who have six or more years of full-time appointment at Texas State University, including the three years prior to the election cycle.
If you are an eligible candidate you were sent an email from Faculty Senate allowing you to add your name to the ballot. If you wish to stand for election, you must complete this item by July 25, 2025.
