Fall 2025 Election Information
Texas State University conducted elections within each college to help form a new faculty advisory group. This group of elected and appointed members is tasked with revising Faculty Senate bylaws to align with recently enacted legislation and assisting with the implementation of additional SB 37 requirements concerning faculty policies by January 1, 2026. Once officially approved by the Board of Regents, this advisory group will become the 68th Faculty Senate of Texas State University.
The election process began with a first round held from July 29 to August 4, in which the two candidates receiving the highest number of votes from each college advanced to a runoff election between August 11 and August 15. The candidate who won the final round became the elected senator for their college and will serve a two-year term. In cases where only two candidates participated in the first round, the faculty member with the most votes was elected as the senator from their college.
