David Donnelly (Physics) Faculty Profile
Dr. David Donnelly has been at Texas State for 25 years, and is currently a professor in the Physics Department. He has served on the Senate for the last two years, serving as Vice Chair for the last year. As Vice Chair, he also served as Chair of the Nontenure Line Faculty Committee. Dr. Donnelly believes strongly in shared governance, and will be a voice for all faculty, but particularly for Nontenure Line Faculty.

I am originally from Pune, India, where I earned my master's degree in mathematics from the University of Pune in 2007. Pursuing my passion for the subject, I completed my Ph.D. in Mathematics at Texas A&M University in 2012. That same year, I began my teaching career at Texas State University. Over the years, I have actively contributed to academic governance and service. I was a Faculty Senate Fellow for the 2023-2024 term, served as the Senate Liaison for the Mathematics Department, and was a COSE Senator for the 2024 - 2025 term. Additionally, I have been involved in several university and departmental committees, playing a role in shaping academic policies and initiatives. My commitment to education extends beyond the classroom, as I strive to support faculty, students, and institutional growth through active participation in governance and service.
