SAHE Admission Interviews

After initial review of applications received by the priority admission deadline of January 1, SAHE faculty will invite applicants to interview for admission into the program. Interviews for Fall 2026 admission will take place virtually via Zoom in January 2026.

The priority deadline is for first-consideration for admission and first-consideration for fellowships, scholarships, and graduate assistantships.

Applications received after the priority admission deadline will be reviewed on a rolling basis, and after initial review of those applications, applicants may be contacted about setting up an admission interview.

Typically we admit between 20-25 students into the program and also offer a waitlist.

Once admission decisions are made, applicants will be provided instructions on how to apply for open Graduate Assistantship positions and will be invited to participate in SAHE Program Preview and Graduate Assistantship (GA) Interviews.

The SAHE Program hosts in-person event that includes program events and GA interviews. The event will take place on campus at Texas State University in San Marcos, TX late February 2026.

There is an opportunity to interview for GA positions virtually for students unable to attend the events and interviews on campus.

During SAHE Program Preview and GA Interviews there will be opportunities to:

  • Interview for open GA positions
  • Meet with SAHE program faculty
  • Meet with current SAHE students
  • Connect with fellow admitted students to the cohort
  • Network with student affairs professionals at Texas State and partner institutions
  • Participate in roundtable discussions
  • Attend informational sessions and discussions on topics such as program components, financing graduate school, student research experiences, living in Central Texas, life as a graduate student, and internships and professional development.
  • Tour the Texas State campus
