Forensic Taphonomy and Entomology of Texas
This 12-hour course is designed to teach participants about the processes of human decomposition, estimation of the postmortem interval, forensic entomology, and the effect of scavengers and weather on bone. Participants will examine human remains in an outdoor context and be able to discuss the taphonomic processes that have occurred.
It is recommended that participants of this workshop have a background in forensic field or scene recovery methods, human osteology, or have previously taken the FACTS Outdoor Human Remains Recovery Course.

Due to the high heat index in June in Texas, the course begins at 7am each day. June 20th will run from 7am until 4pm with a one hour lunch break and June 21st will run from 7am until 11am.
TCOLE (Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officers Standards and Education) credit in the amount of 12 hours is available to Texas participants.

Accommodations
Any hotel/motel within San Marcos will be within 15 minutes of the workshop site. You may ask for the Texas State Rate at some hotels for an additional discount.
