Plans and coordinates the Annual Meeting held in the spring for retirees to gather for food, social time, and meeting new Association officers.
Organizes the annual 5K run/walk to generate funds for scholarships.
Provides assistance to university retirees and their families in times of need. Includes sending get well or sympathy cards, home or facility visitation, meal assistance, or other needs as requested by the families.
Reviews the Constitution and Bylaws in September of odd numbered years.
Plans and executes the fall event for retirees to get together for food, social time, to announce the new scholarship recipients and to raise additional funds for the Association and next year’s scholarship awards.
Coordinates a plan to involve members in RFSA activities, represents RFSA at membership opportunity events, contacts new members, and maintains a master list of members.
Makes recommendations regarding the number and dollar amount for annual scholarship awards, advertises for scholarship applicants with assistance from the University Liaison, and keeps the application and MOU in compliance with Texas State requirements.
Plans and coordinates social and enrichment events, activities, and trips, such as attendance at Texas State fine arts productions and athletic events, participation in the San Marcos Veterans Day Parade, and visits to destinations of interest to members.
Provides a "Speakers' Forum" for the discussion of topics of interest to Texas State Retirees.
Organizes sponsored activities such as luncheons and supports University Events
Works with the RFSA’s University liaison to maintain the official association website and communicates with members and other interested persons through social media channels.
