Mathworks HSMC Alumnus Awarded Mu Alpha Theta College Scholarship

San Marcos, TX – April 5, 2010
Mu Alpha Theta, the national high school mathematics honors society, has awarded Rebecca Salinas one of its twelve Mu Alpha Theta scholarships for graduating high school seniors. 
 
Ms. Salinas is a former participant of the Mathworks Junior Summer Math Camp and Honors Summer Math Camp (HSMC), and will be serving as a counselor (undergraduate mentor) this coming summer in the HSMC.
 
"I'm honored to be recognized by Mu Alpha Theta.  I'd like to acknowledge the support that my sponsoring teacher, Mr. Montague, as well as the Mathworks summer programs, has given me over the years," said Rebecca. A senior at the Science Academy of South Texas, Ms. Salinas has received acceptances from Stanford, Rice, and New York University.
