Mathworks Students Greeted at the White House

President George W. Bush honored the 2008 Lockheed Martin MATHCOUNTS National Competition winners in an Oval Office ceremony at the White House on Tuesday, July 15, 2008. President Bush praised each of the top finishers for their outstanding achievement and their commitment to academic excellence. Texas State Team Champions Kevin Li of College Station, Kevin Tian of Austin and Ding Zhou of Houston. National Individual Runner-up and Texas team member Bobby Shen of Sugarland was competing in an international math competition in Hong Kong and was unable to attend the ceremony.

Bobby Shen, Kevin Tian, and Kevin Li have all attended the Junior Summer Math Camp held by Texas Mathworks.
