2025 Math at the Meadows Center - Explore the Wet Lands with Math
How can math be used to explore and enjoy the wetlands? We found a lot of ways to enjoy the wetlands and learn about math.
Counting frogs, fish, and turtles turned into a graph to show how many we found.
We made flowers, trees, and butterflies with geo boards. Some young math minded folks used tangrams to make a lotus and ducks.
Along with all these fun activities, we played a game to estimate with our best guess how many dice were in the jar. We had 104 people played our game. To my surprise, there were 251 dice in the jar. Our winning guess was 250. I contacted the winner and will mail the backpack full of math activities today.
