This National Science Foundation-sponsored 6-year grant provides opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students to learn about and get involved in materials science research, i.e. the application of chemistry and physics to the development of materials and devices for biomedical, energy, environmental, and nanoelectronic applications.

The CheMIE REU (Chemistry and Materials Interdisciplinary Experiences – Research Experiences for Undergraduates) at Texas State University offers a 10-week, hands-on research experience in chemistry and biochemistry where students work closely with faculty mentors on cutting-edge projects, gain valuable laboratory and analytical skills, and participate in professional development activities designed to prepare them for graduate school, careers in industry, and other scientific career paths.
