Conference Location

All talks and keynote addresses will take place in the Comal Building on Texas State University's San Marcos campus.

Airport

San Marcos is located between Austin and San Antonio. It is almost always better (more affordable and easier for heading to San Marcos) to use Austin-Bergstrom International Airport

Airport to San Marcos

SuperShuttle is a reliable way to get from the airport to San Marcos. In recent years they have become increasingly pricey, making services like Uber and Lyft competitive, if not preferable.

Here is a comprehensive rundown of options for getting from Austin-Bergstrom to San Marcos.

Lodging in San Marcos

Residence Inn - 512.355.1215 - 625 Commercial Loop, Building 2

Hilton Garden Inn - 512.878.4411 - I-35, San Marcos, TX 78666

Parking on Campus

There are parking garages close to Comal, where the conference will take place. Here is information about guest parking on campus, including locations and fees.

If you want to avoid parking fees most of the street parking near campus has a 2 hour limit, but there is some parking in the neighborhoods south and west of campus (near Jo's Cafe), which would be a 1/2-3/4 mile walk from Flowers Hall.

Excursions & Recreation

We recommend that you bring a swimsuit to San Marcos so that you can enjoy taking a dive into the beautiful and historic San Marcos River. The weather is frequently sunny and warm, and the river is reliably clear and cool year round. Even if you don't care to take a swim, we recommend going for a stroll alongside the river to enjoy the scenery while you're in town.

We recommend exploring the Meadows Center for Water and the Environment, located a stone's throw from campus, to enjoy a glass bottom boat tour of Spring Lake, which is the origin of the San Marcos river.
