Remembering Esteban Salinas
Weslaco - Esteban Salinas passed away at the age of 76. He passed away on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at his residence. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Hawkins Funeral Home in Weslaco.
I have known Esteban for over 20 years, and he taught for many years at the Texas State University Mathworks Junior Summer Math Camp (JSMC) in San Marcos. Esteban was an incredible master teacher, inspiring students and colleagues with a love of mathematics and a passion for learning. He cared deeply for his students which was reflected in the evaluations I received from his many students about how much they learned and enjoyed working with him. He had a unique ability to encourage students and peers, and to bring out the best in everyone whom he met. We will all miss Esteban greatly. He was a friend, colleague, and wonderful teacher who inspired future generations of students and teachers. His memory will live on in the hearts and minds of the many people who had the opportunity to meet and work with him. - Max Warshauer
