Conducts research to help law enforcement build more powerful investigative and analytic tools
What We Do
Welcome to the Center for Geospatial Intelligence and Investigation (GII). We conduct research focused on solving crime using information management models and geospatial data. Our training programs support intelligence-led practitioners in addressing crime, serial offenses, and crime linkage. By using computer modeling grounded in human behavioral theories, GII helps extract valuable insights from data and information, assisting agencies in connecting the dots in environments of information overload and uncertainty.
GEOGRAPHIC PROFILING
The Center for Geospatial Intelligence and Investigation uses spatial analysis and environmental criminology to assist in investigations. Geographic profiling serves as an investigative support technique for serial violent crime cases.
CRIME MAPPING
We partner with agencies and universities, both nationally and internationally, to develop tools, train personnel, and research repeat offenders and crime hotspots to address crime and prevention efficiently.
