Stranger violent and sexual crimes are hard to solve and often generate hundreds of tips, leading to overload. Geographic profiling helps by analyzing crime locations to estimate where the offender likely lives, helping police focus their efforts.
An assessment is necessary to determine if a case is appropriate for geographic profiling. To do this, we discuss the crimes with the police investigator and then review a case information package.
