Program Goals

The faculty, alumni, students, and industry set forth the following Program Goals.

Within 3-6 years after graduation, graduates of the Concrete Industry Management program at Texas State University will be able to accomplish the following objectives.

a. Pursue rewarding careers in the concrete or construction industry, advancing in leadership and management experience.

b. Continue to advance in learning and knowledge through activities such as professional development and other lifelong learning pursuits.

c. Use their knowledge and leadership skills to contribute to society, the profession, and the community.

Program Learning Outcomes

  • PLO 1 - Students will have the ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, science and technology to technical problems
  • PLO 2 - Students will have a knowledge of modern techniques, tools and concrete construction methods
  • PLO 3 - Students will have an ability to conduct standard tests and experiments and to analyze and interpret data
  • PLO 4 - Students will have an understanding of principles of concrete production, efficiency and quality management procedures
  • PLO 5 - Students will have an ability to communicate effectively in oral and written forms and demonstrate effective teamwork skills
  • PLO 6 - Students will have an understanding of the legal, professional and ethical responsibilities of the profession
