VASC Guides are current Texas State veterans or military-connected students who provide incoming and returning Texas State veterans and military-connected students with guidance to succeed in their academic endeavors. This peer-to-peer program allows new students to meet and ask questions from current students who have likely had similar experiences or can share commonalities. VASC Guides are familiar with many useful resources about Texas State, Veteran Affairs, the local San Marcos community, and more!

VASC's Bobcat Cadence is a campus resource tour for military-connected students by military-connected students.
During a Bobcat Cadence, one of our VASC Guides will show you areound the many military friendly offices on campus and introduce you to key faculty and staff members to aid your transition and success at Texas State. This is also a chance to learn from current TXST students tips & tricks for living in San Marcos including best places to eat, study, shop, and more.
