Brainfuse

To access Brainfuse, log into your TXST Canvas site, click on the course that you need tutoring for, and you will see “Brainfuse Online Tutoring” under the course menu if your faculty member has made it visible.

Though Brainfuse may not be available for your specific course, there is a vast range of subjects covering core areas like mathematics, writing, reading, and social studies as well as nursing, engineering, finance, computer science, and foreign languages. 

Brainfuse is included in the tuition and fees paid as a current Texas State student, so there is no additional fee to use this service.

If you do not see Brainfuse in your Canvas course, this likely means your faculty member has not made Brainfuse visible in their course. 

You can reach out to your faculty and request they make Brainfuse visible or, you can see if Brainfuse is accessible in any of your other Canvas sites and access it that way. 

FOR FACULTY: To make Brainfuse visible to your students within your Canvas site:

• Click on the “Settings” tab
• Click “Navigation”
• Drag Brainfuse to the top set of active links/items
• Press “Save”

This will allow your students to access Brainfuse for their courses through TXST.

There is no limit to how long you can be in a Brainfuse tutoring session so long as you are actively engaging with the tutor.

Brainfuse tutors are not hired or employed by Texas State University, but they are qualified, professional educators - typically holding bachelor's or advanced degrees - who provide live, on demand academic support and writing feedback.
