Biography & Education

Lindley Workman Alyea is the third Director in SLAC’s long and storied history at Texas State. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Radio, Television, and Film, Magna Cum Laude, and a Master of Arts Degree in English Literature, both from the University of North Texas.

As Director, Lindley is responsible for overseeing how SLAC meets the academic support needs of Bobcats through strategic planning, tracking how SLAC meets its administrative outcomes, and how its professional staff members serve the TXST community. Passionate about developing professionals in the field of higher education and learning assistance, Lindley has presented more than 40 times at state, national, and international professional conferences, in addition to speaking on campus at New Student & Family Orientation and the like.

Before joining Texas State in 2005, Lindley worked for the UNT Learning Center, coordinating its Supplemental Instruction (SI) program.
