Biography & Education

Jade Figueroa is the Assistant Director of The STUDY in addition to overseeing the work of the Veteran Academic Success Center. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Social Work, cum laude, and her Master of Arts in Developmental Education with a Learning Support concentration both here at Texas State University. During her graduate program, she interned for Student Support Services where she helped facilitate the Summer Bridge Program for incoming freshman.

Before joining the SLAC professional staff team in 2021, Jade worked as an Academic Advisor I for Texas State University’s McCoy College of Business since April of 2019. During her time at the McCoy College of Business, Jade served as the staff advisor for the McCoy College Ambassadors. Jade also worked as an Admissions Advisor at San Jacinto College in Pasadena, Texas, after earning her master’s degree.

As the Assistant Director for The STUDY, Jade’s primary responsibilities include overseeing the hiring, training, and supervision of the student tutors in The STUDY and helping to monitor and maintain The STUDY’s budget. Jade also serves as the Veteran Academic Success Center (VASC) Coordinator, where she works with veteran and military-connected VASC Guides to connect students with resources and provide a peer assistance program to support academic success.
