Herb Carter was a former Vice-President of the Siemens Foundation who helped begin Siemens Competition in Math, Science, and Technology. This fund provides scholarships for students, particularly African-American students, to attend Mathworks summer programs.

KLE Foundation was started by Eric Harslem in 1997.  This Mathworks endowmed fund, established by the KLE Foundation in 20014, provides operational support and scholarships for students and teachers to attend Mathworks summer programs.
