The History Department offers all of our students opportunities to get involved in history!
The History Club is a student organization open to all Bobcats that seeks to provide an enjoyable, stimulating space for all who share an interest in history.
Phi Alpha Theta is an international history honor society open to all Texas State graduate and undergraduate students, whose mission is to promote the study of history.
History Department faculty are pleased to collaborate with other Texas State departments to provide excellent programming opportunities for undergraduate minors in areas such as African American Studies, Peace and Social Justice, and more.
Additionally, the History Department offers numerous opportunities for our student to participate in Study Abroad Programs. The department regularly hosts two programs, Student Abroad in Chester, U.K. and Study Abroad in India, which occur each summer.
The History Department is pleased to collaborate with other centers, both internal and around campus including the Center for Texas Public History, The Center for Texas Music History, and the Center for the Study of the Southwest.
