Paul Sampson is a Historian of Science whose research focuses on the history of ventilating machines and the relationship between air, labor and the environment in the British Empire during the long eighteenth-century. His research has been published in the journals History of Science and Endeavour and he has a co-authored an article on the history of ventilation for the American Journal of Public Health. His first book, entitled “Ventilating the Empire: British Science and the Origins of Climate Control” is currently under contract with De Gruyter-Brill press.
