Frequently Asked Questions

  • Band Camp FAQ

    • There is no audition to attend TXST Band Camps - simply register! Our camps are designed to offer educational opportunities of students of all levels.  Students do need to prepare for a ‘placement audition’ upon arrival so they may be placed in an ensemble which will best develop their skills.

You can find audition music at:

      http://www.txstate.edu/bands/camps/auditionmusic.html

    • The rebate is applied one of two ways:

If your student's band director registers and pays for all students from their school, the $50 rebate will be automatically applied.

If you are registering your student yourself, the $50 rebate will be applied in the form of a refund after the start of camp and school attendance is verified.

    • The $50 Concert Band Camp scholarship for percussionists attending both camps will be applied to your concert camp balance after you have registered and fully paid for percussion camp.

    • Commuter students are picked up at 5:30 daily.

Commuter students may choose to participate in the evening social activities.  These typically end around 10:00pm.  You will receive a detailed schedule at the commuter meeting on registration day.

Commuter students who chose to stay for the evening activities will pay $8 for dinner.
