Archaeology

Research interests:  
Maya archaeology and epigraphy; international heritage management; artifact imaging; ceramic analysis; polity formation and collapse.

Nick Carter studies the archaeology and writing systems of Mesoamerica, with a focus Maya hieroglyphic writing and the western Maya Mountains of Peten, Guatemala. He was born in Houston, Texas, attended Our Lady of the Lake University and the University of Texas, Austin, and received his PhD from Brown University in 2014.
