International Advisory Council

Mission Statement

The mission of the International Advisory Council (IAC) is to foster university-wide collaboration in international activities that is guided by a commitment to diversity of people and ideas, as well as a global perspective. The IAC will provide a broad-based, participatory framework for the consideration of international initiatives, opportunities, and projects. The IAC will also provide input to the office of International Affairs on specific matters relating to comprehensive internationalization.

Selected Council Updates

International Education Week (IEW) is a joint initiative of the State Department and the Department of Education that provides an opportunity to celebrate the benefits of international education and how it prepares students for success in the world. IEW will be celebrated internationally from Monday, November 16 through Friday, November 20, 2020.

International Student Recruitment

International Affairs is working to improve enrollment numbers of international students by increasing partnerships with agencies, digital platforms, and enrollment management services. As of January 2020, the university is contracted with eight recruitment agency firms and three lead management services. Talks with new prospective partners are in progress

 

Meeting of the International Advisory Council

The latest virtual meeting of the IAC took place Friday, September 25, 2020 at 3 PM. The agenda included the endorsement of Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) as a way to internationalize the curriculum, updates on fall 2020 initiatives, and isolation of 2-3 key agenda items for the 2021 calendar year.
