Texas State University is actively seeking..

to establish mutually beneficial partnerships with foreign institutions to expand the global reach and visibility of the university. We are particularly interested in exploring academic models such as 2+2, 3+1, 3+1+1 and 1+1 in various programs that drive enrollment to one of our campus locations or to our online programs, for a more affordable education. In addition, we are seeking unique and innovative collaboration frameworks, such as establishing international locations in key geographic areas, to which we are open to discussing. At this time, we are not seeking any additional partners for academic exchange models, unless the foreign institution is interested in a one-way, fee paying exchange where the students from their institution come to TXST.  We consider it our responsibility to foster global learning opportunities, create a dynamic educational environment for students and faculty alike, and expand the visibility of the university. Because of this, we are not interested in signing General MOUs only just to establish a relationship between institutions. General MOUs will only be signed when there is a clear path defined on what the next steps will be. We look forward to building strong, collaborative relationships that advance our shared educational goals.

Our Definitions

Recruiting Partners--International agencies devoted to recruiting international students to Texas State University.

Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) – a general preliminary document created to establish that each entity is prepared and agrees to develop collaborative activities related to student or faculty exchange, research, or instruction between cooperating entities. An MOU typically involves a university representative within a department or school and provides an avenue for future collaboration through an international agreement. An MOU does not commit either entity to a specific activity or funding. MOUs often precede, but are not required to precede, international agreements.

International Agreement (IA) – a specific commitment to pursue a predetermined activity or set of activities with identified funding or resources. An IA must include program-specific details for activities. For example, any language training programs, international field research, internships, exchange of faculty, staff, and students, and any financial obligation with an international entity would considered an "International Agreement".
