Important Information!

This renewal page is intended only for applicants whose most recent U.S. passport was issued when they were 16 years of age or older and was valid for 10 years. If your passport was issued more than 15 years ago or when you were under age 16 (a 5-year passport), you must apply in person.

Passport Renewal Options

Renew In Person

If you qualify to renew your passport by mail or online but prefer to apply in person, we can assist you with that process. Our acceptance facility can review your application and mail it to the U.S. Department of State on your behalf.

To submit your passport application in person, you must complete the DS-11 form and pay the $35 acceptance fee to our office, as we are unable to accept Form DS-82 renewal applications. You can find more information about the required documents for an in-person appointment here.

Online Passport Renewal

This option is for eligible U.S. citizens who qualify to renew their passports online. Simply click the button below and follow the instructions provided on the U.S. Department of State's website to renew your passport online. You do not need to mail in your current passport, as the U.S. Department of State will automatically cancel it when your application is submitted.

Note: Choosing this method allows you avoid the $35 acceptance fee that is charged when submitting an application in-person.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • The passport you are renewing is (or was) valid for 10 years and is expiring within 1 year or has expired less than 5 years ago.
  • You are 25 years of age or older.
  • You are not changing any personal information, such as your name or sex.
  • You are not traveling for at least 6 weeks from the date you submit your application online. Expedited service is not available for online renewals.
  • You are physically located in a U.S. state or territory at the time you submit your application.
  • You have your passport in your possession, and is not damaged, mutilated, or you have not reported it as lost or stolen.

Renewal by Mail

You may renew your passport by mail if you do not qualify for online renewal. If you are eligible for this renewal method, you must mail the passport application yourself directly to the U.S. Department of State through USPS. Our acceptance facility cannot accept Form DS-82 renewal applications. Simply follow the instructions provided on the U.S. Department of State's website below.

Note: Choosing this method allows you avoid the $35 acceptance fee that is charged when submitting an application in-person.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You can submit your most recent U.S. passport with your application.
  • Your passport was issued within the last 15 years, and was issued when you were 16 years or older, and was valid for 10 years.
  • Your passport has never been reported lost or stolen.
  • Your passport was issued in your current name, or you can provide a certified document like a marriage certificate, divorce decree, or court order to show your legal name change.
  • Your passport is not damaged.
