Fatima Hernandez

Ms. Hernandez is in her third year as a High School Mentor.
She is majoring in Elementary Education with an EC-6 Bilingual Certification.
When asked what she loves most about being a High School Mentor, Hernandez states, “I love when I am able to open someone's world by informing them on potential careers based on their interests. I also enjoy helping students plan for their future plans.”
Gillian Cespedes

Ms. Cespedes is a second year High School Mentor.
She is an Education major with an Elementary Core ESL certification.
When asked what she loves most about being a High School Mentor Cespedes states, “Being a high school mentor is a rewarding experience that allows me to guide students through college applications, scholarships, and/or career planning. It’s fulfilling to support their growth, boost their confidence, and make a lasting impact on their future success.”
Kaylee Foster

Ms. Foster is a first year High School Mentor.
She is an a pre-Business major.
When asked what she loves most about being a High School Mentor Foster states, “As a mentor in the Texas State University Mentor Program, I've gotten to help students with things I struggled with, like college applications and FAFSA. I remember how confusing it all was, so being able to guide them through it and make things easier has been really rewarding. It's the kind of support I wish I had, and I'm grateful to be that person for them.”
Genesis Novondo

Ms. Novondo is a first year High School Mentor.
She is a Mass Communication major with a minor in Anthropology.
When asked what she loves most about being a High School Mentor Novondo states, “I enjoy working at San Marcos High School with the Texas State Mentor Program. Helping students turn their aspirations into reality has been an incredibly rewarding experience. I also appreciate the supportive and inspiring colleagues who make this work even more fulfilling.”
