Admissions FAQ

This information is drawn directly from your admissions application to TXST. If there are errors, please contact honors@txstate.edu directly to update your Honors application. You may also wish to contact Undergraduate Admissions to update your general TXST student information. Please include your TXST Student ID number (A0#) in all email communication.

Transfer students following the Traditional Honors degree path may transfer up to 7 hours of Honors credit from an external institution.

Transfer students following the Honors Studies Minor path may transfer up to 10 hours of Honors credit from an external institution.

Students who wish to receive transfer Honors credit should meet with an Honors Advisor to review their transcript and plan their classes at TXST.

No, veterans should apply through the standard Honors application portal. We encourage all veterans to apply to the Honors College.

At this time, ONLY students who have already been accepted to TXST can apply for admission to the Honors College. If you have not yet applied to TXST, please visit the TXST Undergraduate Admissions website.

Unfortunately not. If you apply to the Honors College and decide to attend TXST at a later date, you must contact the Honors College in order to withdraw your application from the semester in which you originally applied. You may reapply for the semester you plan to enroll at TXST.

No; if you still have a minimum 3.25 GPA, you do not need to reapply. However, it is the student's responsibility to notify the Honors College upon being readmitted to TXST by emailing honors@txstate.edu. 

No action is needed to "confirm" your acceptance with the Honors College. You will be added to the Honors College mailing list, which will issue the most up-to-date notification regarding upcoming Honors events and opportunities.
