World Homeless Day

This international day serves as a platform to celebrate good works, benchmark progress, advocate for improved policies and funding that can help prevent and end homelessness. World Homeless Day also aims to raise awareness about the needs of people who currently experience homelessness and promote work in local communities to alleviate suffering and prevent death.

San Marcos and Round Rock Campuses

TXST is coordinating a donation drive to raise awareness about World Homelessness Day on Friday, October 10, 2025 and to benefit community members served by Southside Community Center in San Marcos, Texas and the Round Rock Area Serving Center in Round Rock, Texas.

San Marcos Campus

Southside Community Center

Southside Community Center meets the needs of individuals and families of Hays County by helping them find resources for proper medical care, food, and shelter.

Southside empowers families and individuals to meet their essential needs.  It helps with resources, offers a safe environment during temporary crises, and coordinates services for more effective use of resources, regardless of age, background, capabilities, or beliefs.  Southside also works to increase the community’s awareness and understanding of the needs of low-income neighbors.

#1: Donation Drive

Items must be new or gently used.

  • Coats and jackets 
  • Travel sized toiletries  
  • Bookbags and backpacks (not drawstring bags)

Your donation serves our neighbors in a variety of ways, making both individual and community impacts. It helps the Southside Community Center provide direct service to our neighbors in daily meals, laundry, showers, housing, case management, and emergency assistance. Thank you for your support of our neighbors!

Round Rock Campus

Round Rock Area Serving Center

Round Rock Area Serving Center is dedicated to helping families in crisis. Their services include a food pantry, Amazon home delivery program, clothing & furniture vouchers, Keep Round Rock Warm, community gardens, The Volunteer Center, a charity resale store, Computers for Kids, and financial assistance for utilities, rent, prescriptions, payday loan assistance, transportation & temporary lodging.
