Texas Weather: An Anthology of Poetry, Short Fiction, and Nonfiction Reading
Published by Lamar University Press, Texas Weather: An Anthology of Poetry, Short Fiction, and Nonfiction is a collection of works that “celebrates with intimate detail and incredible scope why Texans are so fascinated with, wary of, confounded by, and thankful for their weather.” Edited by Laurence Musgrove and Terry Dalrymple, this anthology includes an amazing array of 59 writers. Of these writers and editors, Jason Harris, Vanessa Johnson, Laurence Musgrove, Charles Taylor, and Steve Wilson will share their work. William Jensen will moderate the discussion panel to follow.

Vanessa Couto Johnson's third chapbook, speech rinse, won Slope Editions' 2016 Chapbook Contest. Her second chapbook is rotoscoping collage in Cork City (dancing girl press, 2016), and her first chapbook, Life of Francis, won Gambling the Aisle's 2014 Chapbook Contest. Her poems are forthcoming in THRUSH and have appeared in FIELD, Blackbird, Cheat River Review, cream city review, and other journals. She is a Lecturer in English at Texas State University, where she earned her MFA. 
Laurence Musgrove, co-editor with Terry Dalrymple of Texas Weather, is a professor of English at Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas, where he teaches creative writing, literature, comic studies, drawing-to-learn, and mindfulness. His recent collection of poetry, Local Bird, is from Lamar University Literary Press. His poetry has appeared in a variety of publications online and in print, including Southern Indiana Review, Buddhist Poetry Review, Ink Brick, Inside Higher Ed, descant, Drunken Boat, riverSedge, San Antonio Express-News, and New Texas. 
Steve Wilson's work has appeared in journals and anthologies nationwide. His most recent collection of poetry is The Lost Seventh. He teaches in the MFA program at Texas State.
Chuck Taylor has published two novels, Drifter’s Story and Fogg in High School, as well as three short story collections, Lights of the City, Somebody to Love, and It All Flows Away, as well as memoirs, Saving Sebastian and The One True Cat. His two most recent poetry books are Magical Fantastical, Alphabetical Soup, and Poet and Vampire. He’s worked as a child’s magician, bookstore clerk, balloon clown, survey taker, janitor, soft water salesman, maintenance man, and animal lab assistant. For twenty-six years he taught creative writing at Texas A&M University. Taylor still writes either in bed, at the kitchen table, or in coffee shops.
William Jensen is the editor of Southwestern American Literature and Texas Books in Review. His fiction has appeared in North Dakota Quarterly, The Texas Review, and elsewhere. His novel, Cities of Men, will be published this spring.
