Chair's Welcome

Welcome to the Department of Counseling, Leadership, Adult Education, and School Psychology (CLAS) at Texas State University—a vibrant and student-centered community where every story matters. Our students come from diverse backgrounds, bringing a wealth of experiences, passions, and goals that shape and strengthen our programs. Whether they are preparing to become professional counselors, school psychologists, educational leaders, student affairs professionals, adult educators, or interdisciplinary graduates, our students find purpose, belonging, and support in CLAS. Guided by expert faculty who are deeply engaged in innovative research and dedicated to student success, our students grow into leaders and changemakers in schools, communities, and organizations across Texas and beyond. We are proud to be part of a public, Hispanic-Serving Institution that values discovery and impact through research, teaching, and service. Our department’s work is grounded in the core mission of Texas State University: to create new knowledge, embrace diverse ideas, and foster meaningful engagement in the communities we serve. With programs at the undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral levels, CLAS offers opportunities for students to flourish academically, professionally, and personally. We invite you to explore our programs, meet our passionate community, and discover how your journey can thrive at Texas State!
Sincerely,
