University stole and honor cords

Graduates and faculty may purchase university stoles online.

Undergraduate students who are eligible for Graduation with Academic Honors will receive honor cords free of charge at commencement.

Bachelor's and master's graduates

Bachelor's and master's graduates must order regalia online for shipping. The Herff Jones ordering website is now open and graduates should order regalia by July 4 to ensure timely delivery, though the site is open for expedited shipping July 5 through July 11. A limited stock of regalia is available for purchase at the Bobcat Store (bookstore) on the San Marcos Campus after the July 4th deadline.

Hoods

The hood (worn only by master's and doctoral graduates) is a black shell, silk-lined in the color or colors of the institution conferring the degree. Check with your program to verify the color, which signifies the field of study the degree was earned, not the academic department.

Doctoral candidates and faculty

Doctoral graduates and faculty must purchase or rent their regalia directly from our vendor, Herff Jones.

  • Rental deadline for doctoral regalia is extended through July 11.
  • Rental deadline for faculty regalia is extended through July 11.
  • Purchase deadline is June 7 to avoid expedited fees.
