The History Department is dedicated to developing analytical skills and promoting critical thinking. This is accomplished by offering several degree options for undergraduate and graduate students.
Our undergraduate program offers a Bachelor of Arts in History with the option of teacher certification in various secondary concentrations while our graduate program offers students degrees in four broad fields: United States History, World History, European History, and Public History.
We are deeply saddened to inform you of the passing of our colleague Dr. Corey Capers (1970-2024). Dr. Capers was a valued member of the history department. He was a talented historian, a passionate teacher, and a caring colleague. He will be deeply missed. His friends and family will be hosting a memorial service for Dr. Capers in the coming weeks, and we will share those details when we have them.
