Rachael Weldon-Caron is a highly experienced administrator with over 14 years’ experience in higher education as a TRIO Director for Talent Search and Student Support Services. As the current Senior Director of TRIO programs and Director for Student Support Services (SSS) and Student Support Services STEM (SSS STEM), she provides administrative direction, and training for all 10 TRIO programs and coordination, implementation, direction, and evaluation of services related to SSS program’s goals and objectives. Prior to her work at Texas State University, she worked in Human Resource Management, Financial Management, Fiscal Management, Budget Development, Supervision and Staff Management and as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of her own non-profit.

Rachael is currently a doctoral student in the Adult Professional Community Education program. Her dissertation focus is on Black women in senior-level leadership positions in higher education. Rachael has a few publications under her belt. Her most recent article “HRD: What can we do to create a more just workplace for African Americans” can be found in the New Horizons in Adult Education & Human Resource Development journal. She has received several awards throughout her professional career however she holds in the highest regard the Muriel Muir Mentoring Award received for her mentorship of students, and staff.
