This checklist is for advising purposes for BGS students only.


Consult your undergraduate catalog or official degree audit for degree requirements.

  • Twelve advanced hours in the minor coursework are required for the BGS.
  • A 2.25 cumulative GPA must be maintained in all minor courses.
  • No grade lower than a “C” will be accepted as credit for BGS minors.
  • Course rotation indications are intended to be used for planning purposes and do not guarantee course availability. "F" indicates "fall," "S" indicates "spring," and "Su" indicates "summer" availability.
  • Students must enroll in MS 1000 lab every semester as part of the program.
  • _____ MS 1211 - Foundations of Officership (F) (Co-requisite: MS 1000 lab)
  • _____ MS 1212 - Basic Leadership (S) (Co-requisite: MS 1000 lab)
  • _____ MS 2211 - Individual Leadership Studies (F)
  • _____ MS 2212 - Leadership and Teamwork (S) (Can receive placement credit for basic training or the Leader’s Training Course).
  • _____ One course in Military History

Note: To be eligible advanced courses, students must sign a contract to enter the U.S. Army, Army Reserve, or Army National Guard. Students must be medically, morally, and physically qualified and receive permission from the department chair.

  • _____ MS 4311 (WI) - Leadership and Management (F)
  • _____ MS 4312 (WI) – Officership (S) (Requires that cadets qualify for an U.S. Army officer commission by submitting to and passing a thorough background investigation to obtain a Secret Security clearance.)
