Security Cameras:  Jeb Thomas, Supervisor of Access Services, reported on the security camera issue.  He indicated there were no cameras deployed at this date.  Deployment is a proposal coming from the Vice Pres for Info Technology, Dr. Van Wyatt.  The proposal calls for camera locations at the LBJ Student Center; the Round Rock Campus; the Coliseum Parking Lot; various areas in JCK, including the data center, the 10th floor and the cashier’s office; Central Receiving; and Bobcat Stadium.  Control of the system will be under UPD.  It will be lightly monitored, recorded to a central server and will be purged monthly.  There will a procedure to monitor potential abuse of the system. He also indicated there will be no video in classrooms except possibly the Round Rock Nursing Center, since it will house very expensive equipment that potentially will need to be monitored.

Gender Identity and Expression: Tyler Ferguson, ASG, spoke briefly, seeking Senate support to add gender identity and expression to the non-discrimination policy, UPPS 04.04.46, Prohibition of Discrimination or Harassment Based on Race, Color, National Origin, Age, Sex, Religion, Disability or Sexual Orientation.  He explained that one could view gender identity as how one views him/herself and gender expression as how one presents him/herself to others. The Senate will consider the issue at the next meeting.

Texas Council of Faculty Senates: Ex-senator Wiley gave a brief report on the TCFS meeting with Chancellor Matthews and Vice Chancellor Craycraft.
